Producer schemes

Producers can join forces in collective schemes or they may choose to be individual compliers. Here you can find a description of producer schemes, the tasks they assume and actual schemes available.

Appointed Representative (AR)

European companies selling EEE directly to end-users in Denmark but with no establishment (eg. Danish CVR/VAT no.) must designate an Authorised Representative (AR) in Denmark.

Producer responsibility has a number of economic implications such as fees to DPA-System, provision of financial security for take-back of WEEE as well as payment to the Danish tax authorities for collection of portable batteries.

Registration

To take on producer responsibility you must register in the DPA-System producer responsibility register.  Under certain circumstances European companies selling electronic equipment must designate an Authorised Representative (AR) in Denmark. Here you can read about registration, its implications and how to change registration. For portable batteries you must also register with the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency.

Annual reporting

Once a year you must report quantities of equipment put on the market, collected and treated. Here you can read about requirements for reporting, including requirements for auditor’s attestation and use of conversion factors.

Allocation

Once a year DPA-System allocates a specific amount of waste equipment to be collected from Denmark’s municipal collection sites by producers of household equipment and/or portable batteries. Here you can read how this allocation is made as well as its concrete results.

Cease, changes, mergers

Changes in a producer’s field of business activity, including cease, merger etc. have certain implications for the DPA-System registration. Here you can read about how to deal with such situations.
