On 1 January 2009 WEEE-System changed its name into DPA-System (Danish Producer Responsibility System) due to the fact that on this date the organization also became in charge of establishment and operation of the producer responsibility register and administrative systems regarding end-of-life batteries (BAT) and end-of-life vehicles (ELV).
DPA-System is managed by a board consisting of eight members appointed by the Minister for the Environment recommended by seven branch associations. The chairman of the board is appointed by the Minister for the Environment.

Director Johnny Bøwig has been appointed by the board to be in charge of daily management of DPA-System.
