Other costs

Producers and importers subject to producer responsibility have in addition to costs of fees and financial guarantee certain administrative tasks and ensuing costs in connection with management of electrical and electronic equipment.

These other costs are:

• Requirement for marking of products
• Information for users and reprocessors
• Collection and reprocessing of WEEE
• Auditor’s attestation of marketed quantities for private users
• Reporting to DPA-System

Option to collect costs from next level

Private user:

Producers and importers have the right to include the above costs in the price of the product. WEEE costs must not appear as a separate item on an invoice, however with some exceptions. These exceptions appear from the Danish Environmental Protection Act and only regard costs for management of equipment sold before 1 January 2006. This cost can only appear up to 13 February 2011 (for large household appliances, however, up to 13 February 2013).

Professional user: 

Producers and importers of equipment destined for a professional user are free to decide whether to state costs for management of WEEE on their invoices.
