Financial guarantee

When a producer or an importer puts equipment on the market where the final user is private, the producer responsibility entails a requirement for an annual financial guarantee regarding costs for collection and reprocessing of WEEE.

The financial guarantee is used in situations where a producer or an importer ceases to exist or does not assume responsibility for management of the allocated quantities of WEEE.

Note that it is exclusively the producer/the importer who is responsible for reporting of those data that DPA-System uses for calculation of financial guarantee, among other things.

Since DPA-System uses reported data without any further communication with the producer or the importer it is very important that figures are correct and that the deadline for reporting is observed.

Collective schemes may in certain situations apply for exemption from provision of financial guarantee.

The financial guarantee must be provided in the form of a so-called guarantee on demand in a Danish financial institution or a Danish branch office.
