Conversion factors

Some producers wished to use conversion factors instead of exact kilos in connection with the annual reporting to DPA-System.

The possibility of using conversion factors derives from an exemption introduced by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in January 2009 in connection with Standard for "Declaration of Factual Findings Submitted by a Professional Accountant concerning Electrical and Electronic Equipment Placed on the Danish Market".

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency had thus with the above standard (note 4) allowed producers to use conversion factors instead of the exact weight.

No longer possible to use conversion factors

The Danish Competition authority and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency have decided that it is no longer possible to use conversion factors when reporting annual amounts to DPA-System. This means that future reporting have to show the exact weight in kilos of the equipment.
