Every year in this period producers and importers already registered in the DPA-System producer register must report quantities put on the market, taken back, and treated during the previous calendar year. Reporting must be done in kilos. Rules on reporting depend on, among others, whether equipment is used privately or professionally.
Collective schemes usually report on behalf of their members.
Note! Invalid or lacking reporting means that the producer/the importer is deleted from the register. In this case it is no longer legal to put products subject to registration onto the Danish market.
It is important to report correctly since the general purpose is to allow the Danish Environmental Protection Agency to survey electrical equipment and associated waste streams in order to prevent illegal waste exports as well as inexpedient and illegal disposal. Also, reported figures are used to document that Denmark achieves EU objectives of collection and recovery of WEEE. As a minimum, 4 kilos of WEEE must be collected per capita in Denmark.

Definition of weight in connection with registration of quantities put on the market: The weight is always stated in kilos as the weight of the entire product (the finished article) in the form it is marketed to the user, including electronic accessories, but excluding batteries and accumulators, packaging, instructions for use and manuals. The weight is stated in the exact number of whole kilos of product put on the market per category and type of user. |
