ELV rules introduce producer responsibility and consequently producers and importers of vehicles must organize and finance take-back and management of ELV as well as report information to a producer register.

DPA-System is an organisation established in pursuance of the Danish Environmental Protection Act to administer the rules on producer responsibility in Denmark. The purpose of DPA-system is to ensure operation of the national producer resister and to design and administer a simple and fair producer responsibility scheme for affected players on the market.
