Three categories

Once a product has been assessed to be in the scope of producer responsibility next step is to identify which of the three categories applies. These three categories are a means to group products under the rules for batteies and accumulators. A products is therefore not exempt from producer responsibility based on the argument that it is not possible to assign the product to a category.

Automotive, industrial or portable batteries and accumulators

Each product must be assigned to one of the three categories: Automotive, Industrial or Portable batteries.
