Producers and importers subject to producer responsibility must register in the DPA-System producer register with information on, among others, master data, products, and quantities in kilos put on the market.
Registration must be made electronically on the DPA-System website no later than two weeks before planned marketing.
Producers and importers dealing in portable batteries and accumulators must also register with the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency.
The duty of registration for batteries and accumulators entered into force in 2009. For producers and importers having put products subject to registration on the market the duty of registration thus applies to products sold from 2009 onwards.
If a producer or an importer has put products subject to registration on the market in the above period without having registered with DPA-System, this company is obliged to register products for previous years.
The producer or the importer may choose to have a collective scheme undertake the duty of registration. In this case the collective scheme will make the registration.
Note! Registration is statutory for batteries and accumulators covered by the producer responsibility scope. Therefore it is not legal to sell products covered by producer responsibility on the Danish market if the producer/importer is not registered with DPA-System.

Definition of weight in connection with registration of quantities put on the market: The weight is always stated in entire kilos, as the weight of the entire product (finished article) in the form it is sold to the purchaser, but excluding the weight of sales packaging, instructions and manuals. If the battery is incorporated into an appliance only the weight of the battery is stated. For batteries containing liquids (electrolyte) the weight is stated including liquid. |
