Annual reporting

Annual reporting from 1 January – 31 March

Every year in this period producers and importers already registered in the DPA-System producer register must report quantities put on the market, taken back, and treated during the previous calendar year. Rules on reporting depend on, among others, whether batteries/accumulators are portable, industrial or automotive. Quantities put on the market and taken back must be reported according to chemical substance group.

Producers and importers having put portable batteries and accumulators on the market must also every year in the period 1 January to 15 February report quantities put on the market during the previous calendar year to SKAT (Danish Tax and Customs Administration).

Note! Invalid or lacking reporting means that the producer/the importer is deleted from the register. In this case it is no longer legal to put products subject to registration onto the Danish market.

Purpose of annual reporting

The general purpose of reporting is to allow the Danish Environmental Protection Agency to survey batteries and accumulators and associated waste streams. Also, reported data are used to check whether Denmark achieves EU objectives of recovery of waste batteries and accumulators.

The purpose of reporting and payment to SKAT is to cover costs incurred by local authorities relating to collection of portable batteries and accumulators from private households.
