Allocation of waste batteries

With offset in the Battery Order DPA-System must allocate to producers and importers putting portable batteries on the market or to their collective schemes a quantity of waste portable batteries and accumulators. 

Annual DPA-System allocation

Allocated waste portable batteries must be picked up from the municipal collection sites and treated in an environmentally suitable manner. Allocation takes place annually on the basis of the market share which derives from the annually reported quantities and with geographically fair criteria.

DPA-System informs on an annual basis producers and importers or their collective schemes which collection sites have been allocated to them. It appears from the link on the right-hand side who collects from which collection sites.

Assistance from operator

It is possible to contract with an operator regarding collection of waste batteries from the allocated collection sites. If producers and importers or their collective scheme use an operator in this way they must inform the local authority which operator has been contracted to serve the collection site in question.

Producers and importers subject to producer responsibility for electrical equipment will be allocated WEEE corresponding to their market share based on the same principles.
