Responsibility for industrial batteries and accumulators

Generally, the end-user may discard his waste industrial battery or accumulator to the producer/importer. If the he cannot or does not wish to do so, he may contact his local authority who must assign a place to discard industrial batteries.

Distributors of industrial batteries may also take back waste industrial batteries. In this case, batteries must be delivered to schemes established by producers/importers or municipal assignments must be complied with.

Municipal tasks associated with industrial batteries:

• Assignment of companies for disposal of waste industrial batteries.
• Supervision of delivery of waste industrial batteries to approved reprocessors of waste batteries.
• Supervision of correct management and treatment of waste industrial batteries.
